Red Paintbrush, Castilleja spp. Paintbrush grow wild through North America, from high mountains to low land and plains. The Genus is easily recognized (individual species not so much) and range in color from red, orange and pinks.
These red paintbrush flowers were hand painted using enamel glass onto a copper disk. After firing the enamel was set like a stone in a hand fabricated sterling silver ring.
